CBS Nukes Jericho!

Bad news, the CBS recently revealed its fall schedule. Apparently 'Jericho' has been cancelled for good. The show featured a deaf character in a recurring role. I'm disappointed that this show has been cancelled. The show was starting to get really good. For God's sake, they had a big cliffhanger in the season finale. Actually, it's the series finale now that it's not coming back this fall.

There isn’t much for me to say on the subject and when it’s cancelled, it’s cancelled. Another good show gone down the drain along with Firefly, Angel, Veronica Mars and more.

Curse you, CBS!

  2. Damn!!! I loved that show and really looked forward to seeing it...

We should do what they did with another program (cant remmy which) but the hundreds of fans wrote to the network crying for their favorite show....

So lets do the same...write and bitch! NICELY! :-)

  3. I recently checked out the CBS.com to double-check the exiting fact.

Yes,I am very shocked to learn that the CBS-TV cancelled the serialized drama with good rating numbers. Why???

Salary disputes?? Deaf character need to be more explored, not just sidelined to the shadow.

  4. Vikee,

Yes, a letter writing campaign was used as a tactic to save a TV show from being canned on several occasions. I remember reading stories about how the fans saved 'Star Trek' from being canned. They made a massive letter writing campaign out of it and succeed.

Firefly, failed as a TV series, then led to a theatrical adaptation which didn't do that great at the box office. It is now hailed as one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all times even edging out Star Wars in some polls.

'Family Guy', a show I don't care too much for but a lot of people like it. The show was canned after a couple seasons and then sold millions of copies on the DVD format. Therefore, they brought it back onto the air.

'Futurama' is also making a comeback next year after being canned a few years ago. There may be some TV series that were saved by the letter writing campaigns, I just can't recall them at the moment.

Right now is the perfect time to start a letter writing campaign because the TV season of most TV series are nearing the end of its cycle this month. They won't start filming for the next season till late July or early August. There's still time to save this show if you want to.

Would any of you be interested in participating with the campaign? Because if we do, we'll have to work together to send CBS the message that we want it to stay on the air.

If some are interested, I can start gathering all the contact information and more needed and post it here on my blog. If some of you want to send me a message, you can send me an e-mail. The e-mail address is on the right side of the blog.

    Have a grand evening.

  7. Darn, I watched it regularly at first, but there were too many other shows to take into (one vcr, no tivo). Will have to get the season dvd to catch up like some other shows.

  11. Boult, I'm not sure why I included 'Veronica Mars' though it is very likely it won't be renewed according to several sources.

Though I'm still hoping it will be renewed. CW made a lot of bad decisions last year. So hope it'll be included in the press release today.
